This week, you might have thought this was all over because we've missed a month or so of them, or haven't had one for a month or so, maybe. We got more Iron Maiden questions. And I will say we've been sitting on these for a little while because we were going to record them one day, but we had the epic battle, literally the epic battle that Gen Maritani sent in, and we had been waiting for Kirsty to show up to record that. And we decided to, when we had Kirsty, that was when we could have done the other episode as well, but she chose the epic battle, which made sense. We'd have been waiting on her. But now is the week where we're actually going to do this questions, these questions that were sent in, and I'll tell you who sent them in momentarily. But before I do that, let me introduce my fellow uh host here of the podcast to answer questions, as she probably loves or hates to do, all the way over in Perth, Australia. I got Kirsty Prince. Exactly, exactly. So I don't know if there's uh we should delay a whole lot. I mean, there's ten questions. There were there were nine sent in. There were nine sent in. The final question was um written by me, and it's just because of I was talking to somebody at work a few days ago, and they meant they said something to me. We were talking about Iron Maiden, and when they said it, I just thought that would be a good question based on what they were saying. And based on what I've heard a lot of other people say. So I wanted to uh and so I just added that to the list. Now, I think you'll be a little pleasantly, you'll be, I think you'll feel good about these questions when I tell you who they were submitted by, though. These questions came from a Scouser in Liverpool, England. Oh, that's them that goes by the name the chatbot 1.0, David Laird. And uh David? Yeah, yeah. She's she's bawling her fist up as she says that, but um, yeah, so we will get right into this. And um I read I read the questions when he sent them to me, but he sent them to me like a month ago. So I haven't looked at them again other than kind of seeing them as I put them up on the screen. So, and I think there's a theme to these questions, if I remember correctly. So, question number one, Kirsty What is your favorite Iron Maiden stage set?

I know there's a lot you can think about, aren't there? Because I think Live After Death, um the Power Slave Tour, is very good. And I really like the Death on the Road one, the dance of death. Um but I'm gonna go with Seventh Son of the Seventh Son.

Oh, I think that's um I think it was really good and you know, atmospheric and everything, but it could be because that's the first time I saw the Right, yeah. It probably is.

Yeah, and like as soon as I think of it, I mean obviously I think almost anybody, even Gen would probably the first thing you think about is Power Slave's tour. You know, you just think of just how incredible it looks, and you open the gate.

That was the first time I saw them live on a video.

Yeah, yeah. And so that's the first thing that pops to mind for me. Uh, Somewhere in Time doesn't seventh Sun. I've I mean that was my first tour as well, and uh I really, really did like it, but like to me, if I I would I would I would say it doesn't quite hold up to even what Power Slave was, um, even though I never saw it. Um I think the uh Legacy the Beast setup was really cool with the big Spitfire hangout.

I've seen yeah, I've seen a lot of clips from it though, and that was pretty cool because there was like three different sets, went there.

That sounds really, really cool to me. Um, but but I'm gonna I'm gonna follow in your footsteps a little bit, and at least I'm gonna choose a show that I went to. And I'm I'm gonna go with the legacy of the beast, because I guess I have a real soft soft spot for it, because when they came on stage opening with Aces High, and that Spitfire was hanging there and moving around, and Sarah's words, and you can hear them if you go back about uh let's see, that was in 19, so probably August or September, I think it was September 19th of 2021, maybe 2022. The episode that came out then was me and Sarah talking about going to that show, I believe, if I'm correct. And Sarah, when she saw the Spitfire, and I've got it on audio, you can hear her. Is that thing real?

Yeah, the show looks real.

Yeah, and and it just it just kind of warms my heart just thinking about it, her saying that, you know. Because, you know, it was well, that would have been seven years ago, so she would have been 12, so much younger and not independent like she is now. And uh, but you know, and I just thought it was a fantastic set, you know, the way when they came on for um Where Eagles Dare, you know, the kind of turned into this, and the and it had a war s feel to the stage as well, so it was really cool. So uh and I guess they opened with the war, the war that because they had war, religion, and and hell.

Yeah, so but yeah, I I I I like that. It's it it's kind of feels bad to not say power slave, because power slave, you look at pictures of power slave and it looks the coolest. But I love the I love the tank on the stage for a matter. If it wasn't that, I'd say matter of life and death. But if I'd seen a matter of life and death tour, I think I would say that.

Yeah, that's the one I was thinking of it thinking between the Number of the Beast lineup and the power slave lineup.

I think if Dennis would have played with Bruce in the band, that with Clive as well, would have been a cool lineup to see as well.

That's a little bit of a hypothetical, obviously, but well, it's definitely it would be cool to see. Yeah, I mean, I but I wouldn't pick the lineup with Dennis because of Paul. So uh so yeah, I'd I would say the the current lineup, or no, sorry, the the la the lineup with Nico, like say Circa, Matter of Life and Death, Brave New World, you know, that whole era. I mean, the leg even even up to the legacy tour, man. I mean, Niko killed it on that tour, so yeah.

Oh, so you could have Dennis Adrian and you can have Yannick, you can have all four of them, the guitar players.

Oh, yeah. Hmm. Here, I'll go first on this one. Give you time to think here. I'm gonna go with the because you know, you go like you see a band like Pink Floyd, if you ever watch an old live show, like, and they had a ton of people on stage, extra guitar players and stuff, to make sure everything was filled out and fleshed out. Um, so I'm gonna do the same thing here. I'm gonna say, if I could pick a maiden lineup of all favorite lineup. I think it would be all four guitar players. Because I think having you because in in a sense, you would have Adrian and Dennis, who would be the you know, the Adrian Dennis guys that play really melodic and well-thought-out sounding solos and things, and then you'd have two Dave Murray-ish people where they're wild and crazy all over the fretboard guys.

This would be like some sort of you know, when you go to concerts and the bands kind of are jamming and stuff, and it's a little bit more free-form.

Well, I mean, we went and saw Halloween. And Halloween or me and Matt did, and they had I mean, they well, they had at least three guitar players. So at least three. At least three. They might have had fourth, I don't remember. Well, there were times where one of the singers was playing a guitar too, so well, I mean, you know, because you could have someone doing the rhythm, and then you with the triple guitar harmony over the top. Oh, yeah, absolutely.

Yeah, and then I would have then I would have Bruce, and then I would have uh Clive and Nico. I'd have basically everybody, everybody but Paul and Clive and Nico at the same time. Yeah, yeah.

Just okay. Uh number four. Question four. What is your favorite live show from a music point of view, not stage set? Hmm. So what's your favorite live show? I can answer this one pretty quickly. Oh, you can. Man, there's there there are multiple shows though. It's between quite a few, really. I love the Brave New World show, you know, The Rock and Rio.

Yeah, yeah. And Prisoner, so I'm gonna go ahead and say that I would go with the Power Slave Tour as well from the old set. Yep. And I would go with a matter of life and death from the current, more current era, the modern, more modern era, because and and and and the matter of not the matter of the beast or whatever they called it, where they took half the songs out. But some of those that set list for um uh final frontier when they were only playing one song from Final Frontier at the start, and like they played two or three songs from Dance of Death, and two or three from A Matter of Life and Death, and two or three from A Brave New World, like uh like a more modern set list. I thought that was fantastic set list. That would be a great show to see as well, because it Passion Dale was one of those songs, you know.

Speaking of something really random, really quickly. Recently I was on Twitter reading Some really old comments somewhere. And I ran across a comment of something that our friend Louis Mariano uh Rodriguez had posted. And I retweeted I retweeted it. And so if anyone doesn't know this, you could go find it on my on my uh timeline. But I'll ask you, because I've never heard of this. James Fraser, I sent it to him. He had never heard of it. Now, if he's never heard of it, I mean, did you ever know that they had an Iron Maiden condom out in the mid early 90s?

No, but it's incredible, isn't it? Because um it just it just really because it was like the fear of the dark era, wasn't it?

Oh god, I've done this so many times.

I'll say this while you while you I'll say this.

Well, I while I um scroll back to like three years ago when I did it, I'll never find it.

But I think I think a dream I'll I don't know if I can give a whole set list, but I think I think part of a dream set list would be eliminating all of the songs that are in almost every single set list and adding songs that have either never made a set list or rarities, you know. I a dream set list for me would be much a more like a modern set list. Like do it like kind of do the tour they're doing right now, but instead all the songs come from the post-era of 1992. No Iron Maiden, no um Trooper, no fear of the dark, no fear of the dark, you know, take all those songs away. You know, have now you got five or six albums, do two or three songs from every album, you know. Well, no, you don't. You got the two Blaze albums. You could just I I don't I don't mind hearing those songs, but we have heard um Sign of the Cross and Klansman a lot over the past you know so many years because I toured them. I would love just a set list from Brave New World to Senjutsu. So how many is that six? Six albums, right?

So take take three, take two songs, and then take three songs from some of those albums. And you know, I would want to hear well, let's see, I could scroll through there pretty quick, I guess, and or not even scroll, but I'd love to hear um, I mean, like a like Wicker Man would probably be a great opener, Ghost of Navigator, and uh I know you won't like this, but Dream of Mirrors. Do those three and then go to Dance of Death. Yeah, do go to Dance of Death and do uh Passion Dale and Um like No More Lies, either No More Lies or Dance of Death.

Where it had a lot of different raised levels that you could stand, wait, but you could see. Like I'm quite sure. I mean, even people taller than me have trouble seeing. So there's that. I actually think we're really lucky in Perth because the arena that we've got here is excellent. There's no bad seats.

But there's a I saw them in Oxford Apollo, which is a theatre, when they did No Prayer for the Dying, they were just doing um smaller venues that yeah, they didn't want it to be really big, they wanted to get back to that sort of thing. Because I think Steve Harris really enjoys that.

Oh, yeah, yeah. The other one I would choose well, I I say a theater, but there's a place in in uh Colorado, in Denver, called the Red Rocks Theater. It's a real famous place. You it's it's just if you look at it and and the views are it's just got it's it's amazing views while you're there, like you're watching a band, but you're in the mountains too. And it's really incredible looking. So I've never been to a show there. I would love to see a show there at some point, so yeah.

I would say actually, because uh earlier in the year I saw Grin Spooner Regurgitator at the Red Hill Amphitheatre, and we were kind of looking, we were very high in the hills, and we were looking out, we could see the city in the distance, and the sun was setting, and that was really gorgeous, and actually wasn't bad for sound and vision as well. So it would have been a good one.

Well what they say about the sphere is because I guess it's like going to a venue where the walls are covered with everything that you're seeing. It's not you're not just seeing a background, you're seeing it everywhere. And I know that like I'm gonna f I'm gonna I'm gonna attack onto a mat point here. You know, when you go to see the band, you go to see the band. And at a place like that, the focus is not gonna be the band, the focus is gonna be on just the scenery of seeing it all. And part of me, I think, would be it would be really cool to see that, just to you know, just to see it. Like it's like we've already watched the band run around and do their thing. This would be like the band playing and we just watching everything going on around you, which is kind of like that.

I think it'd be it'd be all my favorite songs. It'd be interesting to see once, you know. Yes. And how would and how, you know, because I know the the Kiss thing, they had advertised it being in 2027, the Avatar show or whatever it was, and so that seemed like a long time ago when it happened when they announced it, oh, it's a long ways away. Now we're you know, now we might be five or six months away from it. So that and and I and I'm a KISS fan, so I I feel the same way about that. I'm like, if it was affordable and it was interesting, like kind of like going and seeing a movie once, except it's gonna have my you know one of my favorite bands.
